Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pledged to strengthen his administration’s collaboration with Muslim youths in the state to promote peace, unity, and development.
The governor made the commitment yesterday while hosting leaders of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Ondo State Chapter, at his office.
The delegation was led by the group’s coordinator, Ogumola Muhammad.
Aiyedatiwa commended the organisation for its efforts in mobilising young Muslims toward constructive engagement and noted the presence of professionals within its ranks as a positive sign for mentoring the next generation.
He also acknowledged the Muslim community’s significant support during the last election, which he said contributed to the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) victory.

Addressing the group, the governor assured them of his administration’s willingness to listen to their demands, encouraging them to voice their concerns “with humility, constructively, and in the spirit of collaboration.
”Responding to requests from NACOMYO, Aiyedatiwa said the need for Arabic and Islamic teachers would be considered in future recruitment exercises.
He added that over 2,000 teachers had recently been employed based on existing needs.
He also reiterated his commitment to youth inclusion in governance, highlighting recent appointments of young people to key positions.
Earlier, NACOMYO Coordinator Ogumola Muhammad lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa’s performance in infrastructure, education, security, and youth development.
He said the group recognised the governor’s attention to the Muslim community, which he described as remarkable compared to previous administrations.
Muhammad outlined several requests from the group, including the renovation of schools with Islamic names, greater youth inclusion in government, and support for NACOMYO’s activities, such as a Da’awah bus and land for a state secretariat.
The coordinator also detailed the group’s contributions to societal development, mentioning their work on voter registration, peace campaigns, and advocacy against drug abuse and violence.
