Pope Leo XIV on Thursday voiced deep sadness and spiritual closeness to the community of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza following a military attack that resulted in loss of life and injuries.
The pontiff offered prayers for the deceased, their families, and those wounded in the incident.In a statement on his X page, the Pope commended the souls of the victims to ‘the loving mercy of Almighty God’.
He called for solace for the grieving and recovery for the injured. He also seized the moment to reiterate his urgent appeal for an immediate ceasefire in the region.
