Why I want to work with Funke Akindele – BBNaija S10 winner Imisi

Winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has expressed her desire to work with Nollywood star and filmmaker Funke Akindele.

The reality TV star described the box office queen as her as her top mentor in the movie industry.

The 23-year-old made the statement while addressing journalists in Lagos shortly after receiving her ₦150 million cash prize and an SUV at the prize presentation ceremony.

Imisi said her journey in the Big Brother Naija house helped her rediscover her passion for acting.

According to her, “I think people saw a lot of my acting side while I was in the house. Even my fellow housemates said I’m a natural actress. I’m ready to do more.”

She mentioned that Funke Akindele has always been her biggest inspiration, adding that she also admires other Nollywood stars.

In her words, “Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I really hope to work with her one day. I also admire Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, they inspire me a lot.”

Speaking on her victory, Imisi described the moment as a life-changing experience.

“It’s overwhelming. I’m still processing the love and support I’ve received from fans nationwide,” she said.

When asked about claims that her win might have been influenced by ethnic support, the reality star responded, “Maybe. Yoruba people are very supportive of their own, so that might’ve played a role. But honestly, I believe people connected with my realness and vulnerability.”

Imisi also expressed gratitude to members of her Celestial Church community for standing by her throughout the show.

She noted that she intends to make good use of her fame and growth opportunities in the entertainment industry.

“Fame is new to me, but I’m ready to learn and grow. I’ll seek mentorship and be intentional about my next steps,” she concluded.
