Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has said he views divorce positively in certain situations, arguing that it can provide relief for people trapped in unhappy marriages.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, the entertainer explained that he often celebrates divorces because they may signify freedom from a relationship that had become difficult or unhealthy for one or both partners.
According to Bovi, ending a troubled marriage can sometimes be the healthiest decision rather than remaining in an environment where people are unhappy.

While making his position clear, he stressed that he would always choose divorce over enduring a toxic relationship.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage. I will not suffer anybody neither will I want anybody to suffer me,” he said.

The comedian, however, noted that supporting divorce in certain circumstances does not mean marriage is easy. Reflecting on his own experience, he acknowledged the challenges that come with sustaining a long-term union.
Bovi added, “That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop.”
