NPFL hits Warri Wolves with heavy sanctions over fan misconduct

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has taken firm action against Warri Wolves following crowd trouble. The decision also tends to send a strong message on discipline and matchday safety.

The NPFL slammed the Warri side with a fine of 6 million naira. The punishment follows incidents during their clash with Plateau United in a league encounter.

The league governing body cited poor security arrangements as a major issue, stating that unauthorised individuals were allowed to access restricted areas.

Supporters were also guilty of unsporting behaviour during the encounter, as their actions caused disruption, including a 10-minute delay in the match.
