Vice President Kashim Shettima represented Tinubu at the event, which drew several APC governors, party leaders and supporters from across the country.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Hope Uzodimma, said the governors reached the decision after reviewing the administration’s performance across key sectors.

According to him, the governors believed the policies introduced under the Renewed Hope agenda had begun to yield results and required continuity to achieve long-term national growth and stability.

“Mr President has recorded significant progress in critical areas such as infrastructure, economic reforms, security and human capital development,” Uzodimma said.

Benefits

“We believe continued support for his administration is necessary to sustain and deepen these gains for the benefit of Nigerians.”

The submission of the nomination forms effectively marked the beginning of Tinubu’s re-election process within the APC.

It also signalling growing support from influential blocs within the ruling party.

Supporters at the venue described the endorsement as a vote of confidence in the administration’s vision and leadership.

They insisted that many of the reforms initiated during the President’s first term required more time to fully mature.

Uzodimma added that the endorsement reflected what he called the increasing acceptance of the government’s policy direction among party stakeholders and supporters nationwide.

With the backing of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, one of the APC’s most influential political structures, attention has now shifted to how the ruling party will shape its preparations for the 2027 election cycle.
