2027: Aiyedatiwa launches ‘Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ to drive Tinubu’s campaign

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has unveiled a new grassroots campaign structure, the “Renewed Hope Ambassadors”, as part of efforts to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The launch, held on Tuesday at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade Ground in Akure, marked what the governor described as a shift from political to organised, statewide mobilisation.

He said the initiative would serve as a coordinated network reaching across all 18 local government areas, wards and communities in Ondo State.

Addressing party supporters and stakeholders at the event, Aiyedatiwa stressed that the platform was designed to deliver results, not just symbolism.

He described the ambassadors as key operatives tasked with engaging directly with residents and communicating government policies in clear, relatable terms.

“Mobilisation is not about making noise; it is about building structure,” he said.

He urged coordinators to connect with people at the grassroots using local languages and practical examples.

The governor pointed to ongoing federal projects, including the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and agricultural initiatives, as signs of what he called tangible progress under the current administration.

He maintained that continuity would be crucial to sustaining those gains.

National effort

Imo State Governor and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodinma, represented at the event by Adedayo Adeyeye, described the initiative as a strategic national effort.

Uzodinma highlighted recent economic reforms by the Tinubu administration, noting their impact on public finance and state allocations.

He expressed confidence that the president would secure broad support across the country in 2027.

Ondo APC Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, said the party was building on an already strong position in the state.

He set a target of one million votes for Tinubu in the next election, expressing confidence in the party’s unity and organisational strength.

State Coordinator of the programme, Victor Olabimtan, outlined a three-level strategy for the ambassadors, focusing on mobilisation, public education and internal party coordination.

He explained that the group would engage communities through town hall meetings, outreach campaigns and partnerships with local and faith-based groups.

According to him, the aim is to improve public understanding of government policies, such as the student loan scheme and infrastructure projects, while addressing misinformation.

The event drew senior political figures in the state, including Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, Speaker Olamide Oladiji, traditional rulers and local government officials.
