We need prayers for Oyo abducted pupils, not blame – Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has reacted to the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, saying that prayers are needed for their safe return while security efforts continue.

In a video shared online, she said people should not turn the situation into political talk.

She explained that both the government and security agencies are making efforts to bring back the kidnapped victims, but more support through prayer is still required.

She added that it is wrong for anyone to say that President Bola Tinubu and his team are not working.

According to her, security operatives are actively involved in rescue efforts, but spiritual help is also important in such cases.

The singer also spoke about belief in prayer, saying that some situations may need more than physical action alone.

She noted that even when security officers are close to the location of abducted persons, unexpected challenges can affect operations.

She urged Nigerians not to be influenced by political arguments over the incident.

She called on citizens to pray for the country and for the safe return of the abducted children and their teachers, adding that everyone has a role to play in seeking solutions through prayer and support.

She said: โ€œSo many people are saying the prayers they are praying are not working. But believe me, the prayers are working. Donโ€™t let anybody use you for any political whatever.

โ€œYou cannot say that the president and vice president are not doing what they are supposed to do. They are working. Even the security personnel can be close to the location to rescue the abducted schoolchildren and be blinded by charms. That is the place of prayer.

“Donโ€™t let anybody control you. Donโ€™t let anybody use you for anything. But right now, letโ€™s pray for Nigeria. All we have to do is to pray for our country. Every individual needs to pray for these children. We all need prayers. You canโ€™t blame one man that the lord placed in a position.โ€
