The Ondo State Government has pledged to revive and complete projects abandoned by previous administrations.
This the state government said was part of a broader urban renewal initiative aimed at eliminating uncompleted structures and curbing resource wastage.
This commitment was reaffirmed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration, with a specific focus on the state capital, Akure.
Among the projects earmarked for revival is the long-abandoned Modern Banquet Complex at Alagbaka.

The structure, situated adjacent to the Governor’s Office Complex, was initiated two decades ago under the administration of Olusegun Agagu but has remained untouched since 2007.
During an inspection of the site on Thursday, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Abiola Olawoye, confirmed that the government is currently reviewing the original contract components awarded 20 years ago.
Olawoye explained that the recent wave of urban development within the Alagbaka GRA made it imperative for the government to revisit the project.
He added that the review would inform decisions regarding the future use of the structure once it is completed.
Site clearance is already underway to facilitate an integrity test on the existing building.
