Nigeria’s Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has announced his final 21-player Flamingos list for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Leading the squad are attacking midfielder Shakirat Moshood, goalkeeper Sylvia Echefu, defender Jumai Adebayo and forward Queen Joseph.
They will spearhead Nigeria’s quest to surpass the historic bronze medal finish achieved under Olowookere at the 2022 tournament in India.
Also, the squad includes goalkeeper Elizabeth Boniface, defenders Azeezat Oduntan and Christiana Sunday, as well as midfielders Muinat Rotimi and Zainab Raji. Forwards Chisom Nwachukwu and Mariam Yahaya also made the cut.
The Flamingos landed in Casablanca on Wednesday to begin their final phase of preparations, determined to make Nigeria proud once again. The competition will hold from 17 October to 8 November.

Group D challenge awaits Flamingos in Morocco
Nigeria have been drawn in a tricky Group D with Canada, France and Samoa. The Flamingos will open their campaign against Canada on Sunday, October 19, in Sale. Just three days later, they will take on France at the same venue, with both matches kicking off at 8 p.m. Nigerian time.
Importantly, their last group match comes against Samoa on October 25, also in Sale, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. This decisive fixture could determine whether Olowookere’s girls progress beyond the group stage.
The squad has players drawn from leading NPFL clubs, youth academies and grassroots setups. It will be interesting to see how the Flamingos will aim to build on past achievements and set a new benchmark at the tournament.
