AGN suspends Taye Arimoro after fight with Peggy Ovire

The Actors Guild of Nigeria, the Directors Guild of Nigeria, and the Association of Movie Producers have placed Nollywood actor Taiye Arimoro on suspension after a clash on a movie set involving Peggy Ovire.

The joint action followed a report issued after the guilds reviewed the events that happened on set.

The suspension letter, dated November 27, 2025, stated that the committees found Arimoro to be the main cause of the disruption.

He was said to have attacked the production manager and a driver before releasing a live video that gave a false picture of what happened.

The video also linked Peggy Ovire to the issue, even though she was not at the scene when the first clash occurred.

The guilds agreed that Arimoro should stay away from all Nollywood productions until further notice.

He is also expected to make a public apology to the production manager, the director, and Peggy Ovire.

Part of the directive given to him includes recording a new video stating the real order of events.

Arimoro has also been asked to return to the set and finish his remaining scenes.

The shoot will be supervised, and he is to follow any extra instructions issued by the guilds.

AGN president Emeka Rollas shared the suspension document on Instagram, saying that the decision was taken to protect the unity and welfare of those working in the industry.

He said the guild aims to rebuild trust among its members and ensure fairness as they move forward.
