The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has moved swiftly to address ugly scenes that followed the AFCON 2025 final.
CAF condemned the conduct of certain players and officials after Morocco’s clash with Senegal in Rabat on Sunday night.
In a firm statement released on Monday, the governing body stressed that such behaviour damages the image of African football. It added that match officials and organisers must always be respected, regardless of emotions or outcomes.

Furthermore, CAF confirmed that all available footage from the final is currently under detailed review. The body explained that any individual found culpable will face disciplinary processes through appropriate channels.
Accordingly, CAF reiterated its commitment to fair play, professionalism, and respect across its competitions. It warned that decisive action will follow, as maintaining integrity remains central to African football’s growth.
