Shettima, who is expected to visit Maiduguri, offered prayers for the victims and their families, while denouncing the continued violence.
โNo religion permits the killing of innocent people,โ he said. โWhatever is driving them, may Allah guide them to the right path or remove them from the face of the earth.โ
He also urged Nigerians to pray for the country and for the administration of Bola Tinubu, asking for wisdom, courage, sincerity and fairness in tackling the nationโs challenges.
Drawing on the lessons of Ramadan, Shettima reminded those in authority that power is temporary and comes with accountability.
He noted that no position is absolute, adding that before God, status holds no advantage.
He stressed that true leadership goes beyond policies, resting instead on conscience, discipline and a deep sense of responsibility.

According to him, what ultimately endures is not ambition, but character and how leaders handle the trust placed in them.
As Ramadan winds down, he urged Muslims to carry forward the values of the holy monthโmercy, self-restraint and serviceโinto everyday life.
He cautioned against returning to negative habits, stressing that faith should reflect in daily conduct at home, at work and in public life.
He also called for more thoughtful speech and a stronger sense of responsibility, particularly among those in positions of influence.
