The governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has commissioned the newly renovated lawn tennis courts at the Lagos State Public Service Club (LSPSC), Ikeja.

The upgrade of the facility was funded by the governor as a tribute to his late brother, former Osun State Governor, Isiaka Adeleke, fondly known as “Serubawon”, who was once an active member of the club.

The President of the Lagos State Public Service Club, Comrade Olukayode Odunuga, praised Adeleke for fulfilling his earlier commitment to rehabilitate the tennis section of the club, which he made during a visit last year.

He described the governor as a “man of his word”, noting that the pledge had been delivered within a relatively short period, resulting in a modernised and improved sporting facility for members.

In his remarks at the commissioning, Adeleke highlighted the importance of sports infrastructure in promoting wellness, unity, and community engagement.

He urged the club’s management and tennis section to prioritise regular maintenance of the courts, stressing that sustained upkeep would preserve the quality and longevity of the facility.

He also encouraged active use of the courts to support fitness and strengthen social interaction among members.

The event also coincided with celebrations marking Adeleke’s recent birthday.

The club leadership presented him with a commemorative birthday card signed by members of the club as a gesture of appreciation.

The commissioning was attended by senior government officials, including the Lagos State Head of Service, reflecting continued administrative cooperation and cordial relations between Lagos and Osun States.

The renovated courts now stand as both a sporting upgrade and a personal tribute, blending public service infrastructure with a lasting family legacy.
