Prophet Segun Arole has made a public appeal concerning the delayed burial of late singer Bunmi Akinnaanu-Adeoye. Her body is reportedly still in the mortuary.
The cleric appealed in a video shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, 25 January. In that video, he called on artistes, family members, and senior figures within the Nigerian music industry to resolve the issues surrounding her burial.

“Do not let Bunmi’s body suffer. Let us give her a befitting burial and allow her to rest,” Prophet Arole said in the video.
According to him, artistes had earlier held meetings and made preparations for the burial after the family reportedly provided a burial date. He claimed that funds were spent on burial arrangements, including a coffin, clothing, and cemetery preparations.
However, the burial was said to have been stalled following a communication breakdown.
“Instead of the family reaching out, it was the artistes who kept calling, but their calls were not answered. Anger followed, and the burial did not hold,” he stated.
Prophet Arole further revealed that the family has since concluded discussions and requested that the artistes proceed with the burial on Wednesday, 28 January. However, some artistes are reportedly no longer interested due to the earlier developments.
Calling for forgiveness and unity, he urged all parties to put aside anger, saying, “We all make mistakes, and no one is above death. One day, we will all become corpses.”
He also appealed to respected elders and senior stakeholders in the entertainment industry to intervene. These leaders should help bring the matter to a peaceful conclusion.
As of the time of this report, the body of Bunmi Akinnaanu-Adeoye remains in the mortuary. Meanwhile, concerned Nigerians await a resolution.
