President Bola Tinubu on Thursday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to overhauling Nigeria’s economic system, promising to dismantle long-standing constraints and replace them with policies aimed at broad-based prosperity.
Speaking at the State House while receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President said his reforms were deliberately targeted at lifting the most vulnerable Nigerians out of poverty and expanding opportunity across the country.
The meeting reflected a show of political alignment, bringing together Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and governors from across party lines, including representatives from Delta, Benue, Edo and Kaduna states.

Addressing the gathering, Tinubu stressed that respect for the rule of law and judicial independence remained central to his Renewed Hope agenda.
He urged political actors to uphold court decisions, regardless of personal or partisan interests.
“We cannot disregard lawful court orders. We must respect the judiciary, whether the outcome suits us or not,” he said. “Our progress depends on a shared vision for national development.”
Responding to critics of his policies, the President dismissed suggestions that pressure from the opposition would derail his reform drive.
He framed his administration as a continuation of past governance efforts, referencing his working relationship with his predecessor, the late Muhammadu Buhari.

“The responsibility is mine, and I accept it fully,” Tinubu said. “Where there are challenges, we will address them and move forward. The journey is demanding, but I remain committed.”
In a lighter moment, he brushed aside scepticism about ongoing infrastructure and economic reforms, joking that doubters might need “Jigi-Bola” glasses to see the progress being made.
Uzodimma, who serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, told the President that the group had intensified mobilisation at the grassroots, engaging citizens at ward and polling unit levels.
He said efforts included outreach in markets, schools and religious centres, alongside data-driven engagement strategies.

Former Katsina State Governor Bello Masari also commended the administration’s willingness to implement difficult but necessary reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and exchange rate adjustments—measures he noted had been avoided by previous governments.
Tinubu closed the meeting by encouraging the ambassadors to remain active advocates for national progress, assuring them of his continued support as the administration pursues its reform agenda.
