Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitiké recently gave a revealing interview with ESPN in which he shared his personal lists — from the best strikers in the world to favourite wingers, Premier League GOATs and top musical artists. And among the responses, one Nigerian name stood out.
When asked for the three best strikers in football at the moment, he chose Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Robert Lewandowski.
However, his choice of the Barcelona striker caused mixed reactions. Some were of the opinion that his inclusion of Lewandowski is a slap on England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane who is on a fantastic run of form.

Then he turned to wingers, naming Lamine Yamal, Mohamed Salah and Michael Olise. His faith in Salah remained constant when he selected the Egyptian again among his top three Premier League GOATs alongside Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba.

Ekitiké’s musical picks and cultural ties
Ekitiké also expanded his answers off the pitch. In the category of three musical artists he listens to, he selected Gunna, NBA YoungBoy — whom he discovered via teammate Jeremie Frimpong — and Nigerian star Asake.
On a lighter note, he also gave his picks for the best-dressed Premier League stars: Dominic Calvert‑Lewin, Ekitiké himself, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Frimpong.
For footballer friends he named Frimpong, Al Ahli midfielder Enzo Millot and Montpellier (on loan from FC Augsburg) and DR Congo forward Nathanaël Mbuku. He also revealed his top three African meals as Poulet DG, Ndolé and Algerian cous cous.
