NYSC releases 9 tips for online registration of prospective corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced registration for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream II program, with a seven-day registration window from March 25 to 31, 2024.

Information released via the NYSC DHQ X handle on Monday provided details and guidelines for prospective corps members.

The announcement outlined nine crucial tips for online registration:

  1. Access the NYSC Registration Portal at (http://nysc.org.ng) and follow the active link to register.
  2. A National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for online registration. Choose “Fresh Registration” for first-time registrants.
  3. Select “Revalidation” if you were deployed in previous batches but did not report to camp. For incomplete registrations, click “Login Here” to continue.
  4. Webcam usage will facilitate facial capturing.
  5. Avoid thumbprinting by proxy.
  6. Details such as Date of Birth, Date of Graduation, and Course of Study cannot be corrected after Camp Registration.
  7. Apply for corrections in Name, Date of Birth, Course of Study, Class of Degree, and Qualification.
  8. Armed Forces personnel serving should indicate their status and upload valid documents during registration.
  9. Married female participants seeking marital concessions should upload relevant documents.

Prospective applicants were encouraged to use verified cafes for registration. The NYSC emphasized the orderly nature of the provided list and advised applicants to check their details thoroughly, noting that some details cannot be easily edited once submitted.

Established by the Nigerian government in 1973, the NYSC aims to promote unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.

The program is mandatory for all Nigerian graduates under 30 years old, involving a one-year service during which participants are deployed to various states within Nigeria to engage in community development projects and other national service activities.
