Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda following his successful screening and emergence as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, alongside newly constituted members of the party’s National Working Committee.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor described the consensus-based emergence of Prof. Goshwe as a clear reflection of the APC’s commitment to inclusive and people-focused leadership.
He noted that the process aligns with the vision of President Bola Tinubu, especially as preparations gradually build towards the 2027 general elections.
Mutfwang praised party leaders and stakeholders for demonstrating political maturity and foresight, adding that their efforts have continued to foster unity, tolerance and meaningful reforms within the party.
According to him, these deliberate steps have strengthened internal harmony and created a fair environment where members can pursue their ambitions without unnecessary conflict.
The governor also acknowledged the leadership strides made by Prof. Goshwe since his unanimous adoption in June 2025. He highlighted initiatives such as reconciliation among aggrieved members, the introduction of electronic membership registration, and broader efforts to reposition the party for long-term growth and electoral competitiveness.

He further commended top national figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, alongside governors and other stakeholders, for zoning the position of national chairman to the North Central region, particularly Plateau State.
Mutfwang added that Plateau is home to competent individuals with proven records of integrity in public service, expressing optimism that Prof. Goshwe would promote unity, peace and progressive leadership within the APC, while strengthening its values of justice, tolerance and compassion.
