The fact Alex Ekubo was prayed for doesn’t mean he couldn’t die – Delta Gov aide defends Jerry Eze

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Ossai Success, has reacted to the criticism directed at the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, following the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo.

The pastor became a topic of discussion online after an old picture showing him praying for the late actor appeared again on social media.

Many users mocked the cleric after news spread that the actor died on Tuesday after battling cancer for a long time.

Reacting through a post shared on his official Facebook page, Ossai said he was unhappy with people attacking Pastor Jerry Eze because the actor later died despite receiving prayers.

According to him, the death of Alex Ekubo should not be used to question the power of prayer or miracles. He maintained that God still heals people and performs miracles.

Ossai also warned people against making fun of spiritual matters, adding that the fact that prayers were offered for the actor did not mean he could never die.

He further stated that only God understands what is best for every individual, insisting that people should be careful about mocking pastors and religious beliefs because of painful situations like death.

He wrote, “I’m disappointed in those mocking Pastor Jerry Eze for praying for Alex Ekubo, just because he still died of cancer.

“Whether you like it or not, God is still in the business of healing and miracles.

“Don’t laugh your way to self-destruction.

“The fact that Alex was prayed for doesn’t mean he couldn’t die. God knows what is best”.
