WAEC releases 2024 WASSCE results: See statistics and easiest way to check yours

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.

This announcement was made by Dr. Amos Dangut, the Head of the Nigeria Office of WAEC.

According to Dr. Dangut, out of the 1,805,216 students who registered for the exam, 1,332,089 candidates achieved credits in at least five subjects, including either Mathematics or English Language.

Furthermore, 1,301,949 candidates secured credits in five subjects, including Mathematics and English Language, representing 72.9% of the total candidates.

This year’s performance reflects a 7.6% decline compared to the results from the 2023 WASSCE.

Additionally, the results of 215,267 candidates, which account for 11.92% of the total participants, were withheld due to cases of examination malpractice.

Candidates who participated in the exam can check their results by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official WAEC result-checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org/.
  2. Enter your Examination Number.
  3. Select the Examination Year as 2024.
  4. Choose the Examination Type as “SCHOOL CANDIDATES RESULT.”
  5. Enter your PIN and Serial Number.
  6. Click “Submit” to view your results.
