We regret 8 years of APC— Adekunle Gold


Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has said Nigerians regret the eight[8] years of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Adekunle God on his Twitter page said President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration wasted eight years of the Nigerians.

It could be recalled that the first term inauguration of President Buhari as the 15th President of Nigeria, and 4th President in the fourth Nigerian Republic took place on Friday, 29 May 2015.

Buhari was sworn in for the second term in February 2019 after he was re-elected and defeated his closest rival, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, by over 3 million votes.

Adekunle Gold tweeted: “This current administration wasted 8 years of our lives. 8 years, we regressed as a nation.”

Reacting to the singer’s tweet, some netizens said the party[APC] deserved no forgiveness for inflicting suffering on the citizens for eight years.

A netizen, Emiola Subomi Faruq, @FarugEmiola, stated that APC did not only wasted Nigerian lives but suffered them so badly for the eight years, starting from the closure of border, every year fuel scarcity, rise in dollar price, rise in goods prices and lockdown without any provisions.

The fan further added that the party and its leaders hoarded the palliative meant to be distributed to poor masses, noting that there is no money in circulation, no fuel, no food, and no security for the lives and properties of citizens.

Another fan, Murphy of Anfield, @its_murfy, said APC took the country back to twelve years.

Similarly, Stephanie, @stephanieAdaugo, noted that the party did not just waste the eight years but took the country further down the hill of hardship.

In the same vein, Duziem Ugoji, @Duzzyduz, said the damage done by APC was not just eight years, but every year the citizens have to live with the consequences which may be 50, 100 years of our lives wasted.

Also, Chibs, @Chibswill wrote, “We regressed on a very top speed, down to the valley. When person talk they’ll say you hate the government and has refused to see any good about it. Pls what are the good things about this administration? “
