Nigeria’s Super Eagles outscored Guinea Bissau 1-0 in the reverse fixture of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Monday.
Nantes winger Moses Simon converted from the spot in the 30th minute to hand Nigeria all three points.
Only three days ago had both teams met in Abuja with the three-time Africa champions losing 1-0 at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium.

Jose Peseiro opted for the likes of Samuel Chukwueze and Simon on the wings while Victor Osimhen partnered Terem Moffi up front.
Slim victory for Nigeria
Nigeria went ahead in the 30th minute after right back Bright Osayi-Samuel was brought down in the box before Simon scored the resulting penalty kick.
Guinea Bissau had chances of their own but failed to bury their opportunities as they sought an equaliser.
Osimhen and Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo missed very wonderful chances with the former hitting the post with a well taken shot.
In truth, the Nigerian players were largely underwhelming especially with the calibre of players in the team. Under coach Peseiro, the team have lacked cohesion and often play as a disjointed unit.

A large section of the Nigerian football fans have also called for the dismissal of the Portuguese gaffer.

What next for Super Eagles?
The Super Eagles will travel away to Sierra Leone for their game in the qualifiers on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
