6 types of people at Christmas

Christmas

Christmas is here again. It is a day Christians set aside to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. It is also a holiday period many look forward to.

This particular year has been eventful. While some may see this season as a time of reflection, others see the need to celebrate. After all, we are alive ā€“ it is enough reason to be a part of the moment ā€“ they would say.

In this article, Blessing Enenaite looks at different types of people you are likely to meet during this season.

1. The fun lover

Christmas is a period that comes with a time of rest for many. The excited folks are simply happy because they will have a lot of time to rest away from work. They will also meet with friends and family that they have not seen in a long time.

This fun lover looks forward to all the fun that is associated with the season. They may move from one home to another to enjoy food, drinks, and laughter. It is often a period where they create lasting memories.

Work commitments do not permit time for adequate rest. Hence, it is only normal that they embrace the freedom to do whatever they please during this period.

2. Children

Children are usually the centre of attraction at Christmas. The parents prepare the children for Christmas by getting them new outfits, hair-dos (for the girls) and haircuts (for the boys).

Children enjoy Christmas by singing carols, eating and seeing family members. But most of all, children look forward to receiving presents and are most satisfied when they reveal the contents of their beautifully wrapped gifts.

3. The entrepreneur

It is pertinent to note that Christmas is a period many businesses experience an increase in sales. In some instances, there are even bonuses and discounts to encourage patrons to spend more during this period.

The entrepreneur goes all out to ensure maximum profit. They may start business earlier and close later in the run up to Christmas. This will ensure that everyone has access to the goods or services they require.

4. The spouse-seeker

There are many persons who see Christmas period as a time to meet their future spouses. With that premise, every single guy or lady they meet is assessed to see if they fit into their description of a life partner. Those in this group are enthusiastic but could also appear desperate.

In addition, this is a period for many in the diaspora return home to spend time with family and friends. And so there is always an interesting mix of individuals at Christmas gatherings and in some cases, life-time relationships are forged.

5. The ‘give-away’ crew

Some people are just simply looking for Father Christmas to offer them prizes and ‘give-away’. Social media is awash with bonanzas on a daily basis. Others just boldly approach anyone they feel can assist them financially with one need or the other this period.

6. The solemn folk

There are some persons who use this period to reflect on the achievements and losses of the past year. It is also an avenue for them to plan for the coming year by setting up resolutions and creating vision boards.

Ideally, we should all belong to this category!
