Transfer Deadline Day 2025 has closed with Liverpool breaking the Premier League transfer record for Alexander Isak, while Manchester United oversaw major departures across Europe.
Liverpool finalised the £125m signing of Newcastle striker Isak, setting a new British transfer record. The 25-year-old signed a long-term contract after weeks of negotiations.

Chelsea secured Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in a £40m deal, confirming a contract running until 2032. The Argentine winger became Chelsea’s headline addition of the window.
Manchester United have seen multiple exits. Rasmus Højlund joined Napoli on loan with a conditional €44m purchase clause. Antony completed a permanent €25m switch to Real Betis, while Jadon Sancho moved to Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

United, however, strengthened in goal by signing Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for €21m plus add-ons. Their reported pursuit of Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez did not materialise.
Aston Villa have been among the busiest clubs, adding Sancho, Harvey Elliott on a £35m obligation-to-buy loan from Liverpool, and Victor Lindelöf on a free transfer.

Bayern Munich arranged a loan move for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson but failed to secure Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, despite strong interest.
Other Premier League transfers
Elsewhere, Tottenham signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, while Fulham completed deals for Tyrique George from Chelsea and Samu Chukwueze from AC Milan. Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey departed for Fiorentina in Italy.
Werder Bremen signed striker Victor Boniface on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, while Wolves acquired forward Tolu Arokodare from Genk for £24m.

Across Europe, the transfer window closed at 7 p.m. BST, with La Liga extending until late evening. Verified deals confirmed record-breaking spending exceeding £3 billion across the continent’s top five leagues.
Speculative reports of moves such as Emiliano Martínez to Manchester United, Éderson to Fenerbahçe, and Reiss Nelson to Brentford have not been substantiated by club statements.
Deadline Day therefore brought both the record-breaking scale of transfers and the widening gap between confirmed moves and online rumours amplified by social media.
