Gabriel’s injury means that Arsenal will now be without their powerful defender for the remainder of the season and he’s expected to miss some key fixtures as Arsenal injury crisis deepens with fellow defenders Ben White, Calafiori and Jurien Timber also currently hindered by injury.

Injury has derailed Arsenal’s season

Injury has derailed Arsenal’s season so far with numerous key players out for a significant amount of time with none more impactful than the hamstring injury sustained by Bukayo Saka in December.

The Arsenal talisman was out injured for nearly four months before returning on Saturday against Fulham to a massive applause from the Arsenal faithfuls. And the fans only had to wait seven minutes for their Starboy to score on his return.

In Saka’s absence, Arsenal lost significant ground to Liverpool in the title race and crashed out of two domestic Cup competitions.

This season has been very unlucky for Arsenal’s injury ravaged team, as it appears that they can’t keep hold of their best 11 players together which unfortunately has been the story of their season so far.

Only time will tell how Mikel Arteta’s team copes with this latest injury to Gabriel Megalhaes who has been Arsenal’s best defender so far this season.

Particularly with the Champions League quarter final match against Real Madrid looming.
