BREAKING: Tinubu dissolves Ministry of Sports

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, has dissolved the Ministry of Sports, replacing it with the National Sports Commission (NSC).

This decision emerged during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga broke the news regarding these significant government changes.

Alongside the Ministry of Sports, the Niger Delta Ministry has also been eliminated. A new Ministry of Regional Development will now oversee all regional commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Just like the NDDC, other regional development bodies are the North West Development Commission, the South West Development Commission, and the North East Development Commission.

The Ministry of Tourism will now operate under a merged structure with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy. This change is part of the broader governmental restructuring approved by the Federal Executive Council.
