Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozie has been officially nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year 2025. This recognizes her exceptional performances for club and country between August 11, 2024, and August 2, 2025.
The world governing body announced the shortlist on November 6, 2025. Nnadozie’s rise has been dramatic.
Beginning her senior professional journey in Nigeria with Rivers Angels, she later moved to France with Paris FC. In July 2025, she joined English Women’s Super League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
During the eligibility window (August 2024 to August 2025), she excelled at both club and international levels. FIFA specifically cited her clean sheet in the French Cup final. Her penalty saves in the shoot-out were highlights of her campaign.
Achievements over the season
On the international stage, she was instrumental in Nigeria’s victorious Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). She started every match and kept four clean sheets in six games. Also, she conceded only twice from open play in the final. That performance earned her the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper award.

The voting process will be balanced, with input from national team captains, national coaches, selected media, and fans. Each group carries 25% of the overall vote. Fans can cast their ballot via FIFA’s official site or app, selecting their top three.
The winner will be announced early in 2026. Regardless of the outcome, the recognition cements her status among the world’s elite keepers. It also elevates the profile of Nigerian women’s football.
