The international break is over and we’re back to witness another round of football. There are lots of exciting features to look forward to as we kick off Premier League game week 5.
The first 4 rounds were exciting. It was goals galore and there is an expectation that this will continue.
Saturday’s games
Everton vs Liverpool
The weekend kicks off with a Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been in flying form since the start to the season. They won all their games and are at the top of the table.
Despite their current form and playing at home, they are not expected to grab all 3 points easily. Klopp’s men would be looking to get back in winning form after suffering a shocking defeat in the hands of Aston Villa before the break.

As Everton also want to make their miserable record against city rivals a thing of the past, both teams have all to fight for.
Chelsea vs Southampton
Both Chelsea and Southampton won 2 of their first four games of the season.
Southampton seems to have turned a corner after suffering an embarrassing defeat in the hands of Spurs. They won their next 2 games after that encounter.
Chelsea were expected to have a much better start to the season as they are considered by most to be title contenders. However their performance on the pitch hasn’t been convincing. That said, they have 7 points in their favour which is massive considering how the season has so far panned out.
It will be interesting to see which of these two extend their winning run, although Chelsea are favourites.
Manchester City vs Arsenal
Arsenal has had a fine start to the season as they continue to be in wonderful form, following their rebirth under Mikel Arteta. They have grabbed 9 points in their first 4 games, losing only to the defending champions.
The Citizens on the other hand have had an underwhelming start to the season, winning only their first game. The return of Sergio Aguero from injury could however give them a much-needed lift.
As both teams clash at the Etihad, it’s another case of the master vs the apprentice.
Newcastle United vs Manchester United
Describing Manchester United’s start to the season as poor is quite an understatement.
The Red Devils lost 2 of their first 3 games of the season. The third game was lost in the most embarrassing fashion.
The loss has raised questions among fans and pundits alike about their manager. Their result against The Magpies would determine a lot in the future of the Solksjaer at the club.
Steve Bruce’s men will fancy their chances to grab all 3 points against a very shaky United side.
Sunday’s games
Sheffield United vs Fulham
Chris Wilder seems to have lost his magic this season as The Blades continue to struggle. They failed to grab any points in their first 4 games.
Newly promoted side, Fulham are no better than their opponents as they sit at the bottom of the table.
A win for either side would most likely be crucial in determining whether they stay up or not this season.
Crystal Palace vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Roy Hodgson’s men had a bright start to the season grabbing 6 points against Southampton and Manchester United.
They were unable to extend this run against Everton and Chelsea and would look to get back by winning against Brighton.
Everyone is full of praise for Brighton’s football under Graham Potter but they’ve been quite unlucky this season. This was most evident in their encounter with Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United
Both teams ended the first 4 weeks on a high. Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham seems to have been whipped into shape and getting desired results.
West Ham was stunning against both Wolves and Leicester City before the break. Could they do the same against Spurs?
Leicester City vs Aston Villa
Dean Smith’s men are full of confidence following 3 wonderful results at the beginning of the season.
They are yet to lose a game this season, winning their first 3 games. Leicester City could be boasting of the same feat had it not been for the shocking result against West Ham.
A win would mean a lot to either team as one would want to extend their run while the other would like to get back to winning.

Monday’s games
West Bromich Albion vs Burnley
West Bromich Albion sits just a point above Burnley who’s currently in the relegation zone.
Neither has had the start to the season they’d have wanted and would fancy getting their first win in this evenly matched fixture.
Leeds United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Leeds United has taken the Premier League by storm with their wonderful style of play under Marcelo Bielsa. They haven’t had the best of results as they’ve already faced tough oppositions such as Liverpool and Man City.
They will be looking to grab their 3rd win of the season against Wolves, who have only one just 1 of their first 3 games.
