Turkish giants secure Nigerian goal machine after sensational 41-game loan spell.
After weeks of intense negotiations, Galatasaray have completed the permanent signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a sensational deal worth €75 million.
This marks one of the most significant transfers in Turkish football history.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria striker enjoyed a prolific 2024/25 season on loan at the Istanbul-based club, netting an astonishing 37 goals and delivering eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Owing to his record-breaking impact, Galatasaray wasted no time in pushing for a full acquisition, having already triggered the €75m release clause in Osimhen’s contract with Napoli.

However, although the clause was met, talks between both clubs dragged for weeks due to disagreements over payment structure and financial guarantees. Napoli demanded concrete assurances before any agreement could be finalised, insisting on clear timelines and guarantees to ensure the deal’s completion.

Payment structure, bonuses and ‘anti-Serie A clause’ finalised
Ultimately, a breakthrough was reached with Galatasaray agreeing to pay the entire €75 million fee by the end of 2026. Crucially, Napoli will receive €40 million up front, with the remaining €35 million scheduled to be paid in full over the next two years.
Additionally, the Italian club stands to earn another €5 million in performance-related bonuses, further sweetening the deal.
As part of the agreement, Napoli also secured a 10% sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future transfer involving the Nigerian star. Significantly, an ‘anti-Serie A clause’ has been included, which prevents Osimhen from joining any of Napoli’s direct Italian rivals for at least the next 24 months.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk had made it clear that keeping Osimhen was a top priority, and with this deal now finalised, the club have not only retained one of Europe’s most lethal strikers but also made a bold statement of intent for the future.
For Osimhen, the move caps off a remarkable individual campaign, and for Galatasaray, it signals ambition, firepower, and a firm grip on Turkish and European football aspirations.
