Gmail now automatically generates AI-powered summaries for long email threads, streamlining inbox management for users.
According to Google, this new feature leverages Google’s Gemini AI to synthesize key points from extensive conversations.
Previously, users had to manually request summaries by tapping the “Summarize this email” button within the Gmail app.
Now, summaries appear automatically at the top of relevant email threads, particularly those with multiple replies or complex discussions.
These AI-generated summaries update in real-time as new messages are added to the conversation, ensuring users stay informed.
The feature is currently rolling out to Gmail users on Android and iOS devices, with availability expected within two weeks.
