Google’s mobile Gemini assistant now supports file handling

The features of analyzing and summing up data in the shape of files which have been uploaded define the way of turning the simple chatbot into a powerful assistant. On Wednesday Google stated that file upload for its Gemini AI has been enabled on both IOS and Android but this feature is only available to subscribers with Gemini Advance only.

Before it was released for mobile, this feature was debuted on the desktop in May under the Gemini 1. 5 Pro update. However, the option was previously available in the form accessible through the web link Gemini. google. com rather than within the app. That’s no longer necessary. It has been changed after the update, and currently, there is a plus (+) in the bottom left part of the Gemini screen, which is a menu with options to upload specific files.

It is compatible with plain text files. txt, word documents, DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, dot, dotx, hwp, hwp x, Google file format, tabular data. csv, tsv, spreadsheets and Google Sheets Excel format xls, xlsx. Users are allowed to upload a maximum of 10 files that can be as large as 100 MB in size.

However, file uploading is still reserved for premium users only as free users can only upload images that will be analyzed. Gemini Advanced subscription can be used to create a subscription on both desktop and mobile with the feature allowing file upload. The price is $20 per month after a one-month free trial with the new 1. 5 Pro model with a 1 million token context window, priority access to new features with integration into the Google Worksuit, as well as 2 TB of storage.
