Ned Nwoko dismisses rumours linking him to younger woman amid marital issues

Billionaire businessman and senator, Ned Nwoko, has refuted widespread social media claims suggesting he has begun a new relationship with a younger woman amid alleged marital issues with his wife, Regina Daniels.

The rumours gained traction after a video emerged showing the 64-year-old lawmaker in the company of an unidentified young lady during a recent public function. The clip, which quickly went viral, led many online users to speculate that Nwoko had found a new romantic partner.

However, the senator took to his Instagram page to debunk the reports, describing them as baseless and misleading.

“A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule. Unfortunately, this clip is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to link me romantically with her,” Nwoko clarified.

Expressing dismay over the situation, he criticised how social media users often distort innocent encounters for clout and misinformation.

“During the visit, photographs were taken with members of the delegation, as is customary whenever I receive guests. This is not unusual — even in public places or events, people often request pictures with me, and I oblige. It is therefore mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives,” he said.

Nwoko maintained that he has no personal connection with the woman featured in the viral clip, stressing that the claims were entirely unfounded.

The lawmaker further cautioned individuals and media platforms circulating the rumours, reminding them of the consequences under Nigeria’s Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

“Let me state clearly and unequivocally that the news being propagated around her visit is entirely false. Any further spread of this fabricated narrative will attract appropriate legal action,” he warned.
