Remo Stars are champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after winning their maiden top-flight title.
On the day that marked the birth anniversary of club owner and Chairman, Kunle Soname, the Ikenne-based side sealed their triumph after a tense 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday afternoon.
Although the game remained tightly contested for most parts, Olamilekan Adedayo finally broke the deadlock just six minutes from time. His decisive strike secured all three points as well as sparked wild celebrations inside the Remo Stars Stadium.

Moreover, Remo Stars’ victory ensure they wrote their name in the NPFL history books as they achieved a remarkable double milestone. They became the first privately owned club to win the title since Udoji United’s legendary success in 1996.

Meanwhile, their nearest challengers, Rivers United, remain far adrift with 58 points after the same number of games.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side have been very consistent this season and are poised to lead Nigeria into continental football next term, alongside other teams that will qualify for both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
From a club once battling for recognition to one rewriting history, Remo Stars’ rise has truly been extraordinary. The 2024/25 season will forever be remembered as the year the Ikenne side conquered Nigerian football.
