Seun Kuti, Nigerian singer shares opinion about monogamy, admonishes men to walk down the aisle with ‘multiple women’

Seun Kuti is the son of the legendary Afrobeat connoisseur and activist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In a recent appearance of the Bahd & Boujee podcast, Seun Kuti aired his opinion about ‘monogamy’. The Nigerian singer-songwriter explained that monogamy doesn’t serve men any purpose, hence, they should marry multiple women.

Speaking during the session, the one-time Grammy nominee had this to say, “Monogamy doesn’t work. As a powerful man, you must have the support of numerous powerful goddesses. You know, women that are in your life because the ancestors want to put them there. You share with them.”

He added that his late father and Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, had over 100 concubines despite marrying 27 women in one day.

The foremost saxophonist is publicly known to be married to one woman; his wife, Yetunde Kuti.
