Earlier in the week, two celebrities were dragged on social media for allegedly engaging in extra-marital affair. The reports are unconfirmed, albeit, netizens prefer to believe whatever they choose to.

Nigerian recording artiste, Bankole Wellington an entertainment polymath and fledgling politician who is better known as Banky W was accused of impregnating a certain woman in the entertainment industry. The allegations were raised by the anonymous blog, Gistlover.

The publication was left for interpretation in the platform’s usual methodology. Numerous social media commentators alleged that the woman who is pregnant for Banky W is Niyola, a songstress who was formerly signed to the singer’s record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).

Banky W has since published a post on his Instagram platform to demean the infidelity narrative. In a post where he was in the picture with his wife, Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington and son, Hazaiah Olusegun Wellington.

He captioned the post, ‘Excess Love’, hence, social media commentators can lay their head to rest and move on to other things.

The Curious Case Of Davido…

Earlier in the week, two women alleged that they are pregnant for the head honcho of 30 Billion Gang (30 BG), David Adeleke who is better known as Davido.

As at the time of this publication, the Afrobeat superstar has not responded to any of the allegations.

An American socialite identified as Ninatheelite first claimed she is pregnant for Davido. She even went as far as sharing screenshots of their purported conversation. Nina whose real name is Anita Brown has since taken it upon herself to drag the singer-songwriter everyday on Twitter since she made the announcement.

Another woman identified as Ivana Bay, a 22-year-old French mademoiselle made similar allegations, albeit, she hasn’t made out of the situation.

Expectedly, social media users have a thing or two to say about the recent scandal.

In The End, Celebrities Do Not Owe Fans An apology

It is time for fans across the globe to understand that celebrities do not them an apology for being promiscuous. Perhaps, both men mentioned above should apologize to their spouses, however, the fans have no right to judge.

Celebrities are individuals who can be described as the toast of the society. Oftentimes, they have the best of everything- from women, to luxury cars, hedonistic lifestyle, etc. Simply put they have it all, hence, it would only take intense discipline for them to decide for they want to engage in this form of promiscuity or not.

It is quintessential for the fans to remember these celebrities worked hard to be at peak of their career. Interestingly, what fans consider to be distraction are some of the incentives that comes with superstadom.

Hence, the fan should ask him/herself, would he or she do the same when he or she is in the celebrity’s position?

It’s easier to criticize when you are not the superstar who experiences the epicureanism and warmth that life has to offer. Indeed, celebrities should be admonished to show control, however, judging doesn’t mean you’ll do a better job or become a saint if you were in their position.
