This feature once again reviews recent performances of Nigerian internationals – Super Eagles stars abroad.
As of the time of this review, since some leagues such as the Eredivise were yet to resume after the festive period, and so a number of these players have not yet to feature for their respective clubs.
Victor Osimehn also tested positive for Covid-19, further delaying his return to action.
Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal)
Chukwueze came off the bench to assist Gerard Moreno for Villarealās second goal in their 2-1 victory over Levante last Saturday.
The winger has seen less game time in recent weeks but makes the most of the opportunities heās given. He showed off his skill again in his side’s victory as he provided an assist. He also registered most shots on target and completed most dribbles in the match despite playing just 45 minutes.

Kevin Akpoguma (Hoffenheim)
Akpoguma featured for Hoffenheim for just 17 minutes in his sideās defeat to Freiburg last Saturday.
The Nigerian started in the right-back position, a role heās usually deployed to play for the Nigerian national team. He made a tactical foul to stop a counter-attack which saw him receive a yellow card and got him injured. He was therefore substituted immediately.
The club confirms that the 25 year old will be sidelined for a few weeks to recover from his injury.
Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto)
Sanusi began the year with yet another impressive performance as he helped his side in their 3-0 victory over Moreirense on Sunday.
The Nigerian was Portoās best performing defender has he helped to lock down the left side. He also won the most aerial duels of the game whilst providing support in the attack.

Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin)
Awoniyi started the year with a wonderful performance in Union Berlinās 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen last Saturday.
The Nigerian forward had a hand in both goals his side scored as he set up Sheraldo Becker for the opener. He got a goal 16 minutes later.
Taiwo now has the second-highest goal contribution for his side this season.
Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)
Ndidi was one of Leicesterās best performers in their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United last Sunday.
The Nigerian seems back to his best after his injury with very good performances for his side since his return.
He helped to provide defensive cover for his side, making 6 interceptions in the match, the most of the game.
