Singer Terry Apala has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to activist VeryDarkMan, demanding the removal of a defamatory post that accuses him of bribery involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to a statement from Apala’s legal team, the claims are entirely false and have caused significant harm to the singer’s reputation.
In a cease and desist letter, Apala firmly denied any involvement in bribery, asserting that he has never engaged in financial corruption with any person or institution.
He also provided an alibi, noting that he was out of the country for several months, observing the Ramadan fast, during the time the alleged bribery incident was said to have occurred.
The artist voiced concern that the unsubstantiated accusation not only damages his image but could also tarnish the credibility of the EFCC.

He has called on VeryDarkMan to publicly retract the post, issue an apology, and clear his name.
The letter states: “I want to state clearly that this bribery allegation is a total lie and has no basis in reality, especially recently. I have never bribed anyone, nor have I been involved in any kind of financial corruption with any organization or individual, whether public or private.
“It troubles me that this unfounded accusation has been spread around without proof. It needs to be publicly refuted quickly to protect the integrity of the EFCC and to clear my name from this unfair connection.”
