Tinubu condoles with military over attack on Army base in Borno

President Bola Tinubu has condolences with the military authorities following the tragic loss of six soldiers during a dawn terrorist attack on January 4, 2025, at an army base in Sabon Gida, Damboa, Borno State.

The President conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice in defending the nation.

He reassured that their courage and dedication would always be honored and remembered.

President Tinubu called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident to uncover the factors that led to the tragedy and to ensure lessons are learned to prevent future occurrences.

Tinubu praised the swift and decisive actions of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly the air component, which launched effective retaliatory airstrikes against the terrorists.

The targeted raids resulted in the neutralization of numerous militants and the destruction of their assets as they attempted to escape.

The President further urged the military to intensify its efforts in proactively targeting terrorist and bandit camps, especially in the Northwest, where these criminals continue to wreak havoc on innocent communities.

He also appealed to Nigerians and the media to stand in support of the militaryā€™s ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across the nation, acknowledging the significant role that collective effort plays in securing the country.
