Tinubu congratulates Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on election victory

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on his historic victory in the nation’s parliamentary elections.

In a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, it was noted that Prime Minister Modi’s coalition, the National Democratic Alliance, secured a majority of the parliamentary seats.

He said the victory paves the way for a third consecutive term, a rare achievement and the second time an Indian leader has retained power for a third term, following Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister.

President Tinubu stated that the election results are a resounding affirmation of Prime Minister Modi’s exceptional leadership of the world’s largest democracy.

He congratulated the people of India and assured the South Asian nation of Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening relations and advancing shared goals and values as strategic partners on the global stage.
