Nigerian forward Victor Olatunji has set a new record after he scored and assisted in Sparta Prague’s commanding 3-0 home victory over Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Olatunji achieved this feat on his UCL debut and what a fantastic way to mark it. Only two days ago, NRTC highlighted the striker as one of seven Nigerian stars to watch during the 2024-25 Champions League season.

Victor Olatunji is also the third African to do so after Daniel Cousin in 2007 (for Rangers vs Lyon) and Serge Aurier in 2015 (for PSG vs Shakhtat Donetsk).

After scoring, the former Slovan Liberec hitman celebrated with the ‘SIUUU’ signature before going on to reveal an inscription on his underwear.

His white underclothes had “I AM A CHOSEN. WHO ARE YOU?” written on it. The words are currently a popular trend in his home country, Nigeria.

His goal in the 42nd minute was Slavia Praha’s second. He then assisted Qazim Laçi’s goal in the second half for his team’s third. He has now scored three goals in all competitions this season.
