River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has hailed the Supreme Court for halting the Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, plan to ban the use of N200, N500, and N1000 old notes from February 10, 2023.
While commending the government of the three states that filed the suit, Wike said Rivers State Government will join hands to fight suit against the Federal Government.
Wike who spoke during the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area said PDP in the state is not in support of the policy.

The governor commended the Supreme Court for saving the Nigerian masses, saying the judgment proved that the judiciary is the hope of the common man.
Recall that a seven-member panel led by Justice John Okoro on Wednesday restrained the President Muhammadu Buhari, CBN, its Governor Godwin Emefiele, and 27 commercial banks from suspending, stopping, extending, or interfering with the currency swap terminal date.
