Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has reacted to questions from fans about why he still holds on to the Psquare name despite his ongoing disagreement with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
The issue came up after Peter recently announced a change to his date of birth, which made some fans on social media ask why he had not removed the “Square” from his stage name if he truly wanted separation from the group identity linked to his brother.
Peter made it clear that he has no plans to drop the name. He explained that he played a major part in building the Psquare brand and sees it as something he also owns.

He also noted that the matter is not fully settled because it is still tied to court proceedings.
He further responded to critics in a direct tone, saying the situation will become clearer with time and that legal steps are still ongoing as of recent days.
“Exactly why some of y’all are pained. I discovered the name, I earned it, and now I own it 💯. It’s a game of chess ♟️remember we are still in court even as of yesterday! with time, you’ll understand 😉 Una go dey alright las las.🙅🏽♂️”, he wrote.

This development comes amid his ongoing disagreement with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, and their elder brother Jude, who also managed the group.
