Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared a light but emotional moment she had with her son, Jamil Balogun, concerning her relationship status.
She explained that the incident happened during a casual conversation with a friend about British rapper Skepta and actor Aaron Pierre. While scrolling through social media photos, she was trying to convince her friend that Skepta looked good by showing different pictures of him online.
Her son noticed what she was doing and asked what she was looking at. She jokingly told him she was showing her baby daddy. That reply changed the mood of the conversation quickly.
Jamil reacted immediately and told her that she should not be referring to anyone as a baby daddy. He went further to say that she should have a husband instead. His response surprised her, and she asked him why he thought that way, but he stood firm on his view that she deserves to be married properly.

Tiwa explained that her son was serious about what he said and kept insisting that marriage is what she should have, not just a partner she refers to in that way.
She said: “You remember the collaboration thing with Skepta? So, literally, we were talking about him and the whole Aaron Pierre thing. So, I was just like showing… so she was saying to me she doesn’t think Skepta is fine; she thinks Aaron is finer. I was going mad! I was going through his Instagram, and I was showing her like, ‘What about this one?’”
“And then Jamil goes, and he’s like, ‘What’s that? What are you showing her?’ Then I said, ‘My baby daddy,’ and then my son was like, ‘You are not going to have a baby daddy.’ And I am like, ‘Why would you say that?’ He said, ‘Because you deserve a husband.’” She explained.

Jamil is Tiwa Savage’s only child from her former marriage to Tunji Balogun, also known as TeeBillz. The couple got married in 2013 in a widely talked-about wedding within the entertainment industry.
Their marriage later faced challenges that became public and eventually ended in separation in 2016. Despite the breakup, both Tiwa Savage and TeeBillz have continued to co-parent their son and remain involved in his upbringing.
