Nnadozie makes WSL Team of Season

Chiamaka Nnadozie has been selected for the 2025/26 Women’s Super League Team of the Season. The 25-year-old Super Falcons goalkeeper is the only player from outside the league’s top four to feature in FotMob’s statistical best X.

Nnadozie arrived at Brighton on a free transfer from Paris FC last summer, inheriting the No. 1 jersey. She wasted no time establishing herself as a cornerstone of the Seagulls’ defense, shutting out Aston Villa on her league debut and earning Player of the Match honors.

Her numbers tell a clear story of dominance. Across 19 league appearances, Nnadozie recorded six clean sheets. She made 44 saves from inside the penalty area and 18 from outside, all while conceding only 13 goals in the first half of the season. Brighton finished seventh in the final standings, but without their Nigerian shot-stopper, that position could have been far worse.

The statistics also placed Nnadozie in direct competition with Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton for the WSL Golden Glove. Only Hampton managed more shutouts, and Nnadozie’s efforts directly prevented an estimated 3.25 goals over the course of the campaign. Her average FotMob rating of 7.57 made her Brighton’s highest-rated player at the midseason mark.

Beyond her consistency, Nnadozie produced moments of pure brilliance. Her fingertip save against Liverpool in November, tipping Fuka Nagano’s powerful long-range strike onto the crossbar, earned her a nomination for the WSL Save of the Season award. The save also won her the WSL Save of the Month award for November 2025, further cementing her reputation as one of the league’s most reflex-sharp custodians.

Nnadozie’s cup form has been equally outstanding. She kept three consecutive clean sheets during Brighton’s run to the Women’s FA Cup final, including a shutout against European champions Arsenal in the quarter-finals. In total, she has registered eight clean sheets across 18 appearances in all competitions this season.

Nnadozie will lead Brighton into the FA Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley on May 31. Chiamaka Nnadozie is one of the best in the world, and the WSL Team of the Season is proof.
