According to him, the adjustment was made due to a conflict between the earlier timetable and significant national events.

He said, โ€œIn consideration of the spiritual significance of the Sallah celebration and the national importance of the 29th May anniversary, the Labour Party, as a people-oriented and responsive political party, deemed it appropriate to adjust its schedule to enable members, aspirants, supporters, and Nigerians generally to fully observe these important occasions.โ€

He added that the decision was taken to promote inclusiveness and show sensitivity to national events, while also expressing regret over any inconvenience the change might cause aspirants, stakeholders, and members of the public.
