The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 66 individuals suspected of engaging in internet-related fraud during coordinated operations across Ogun and Lagos states.
According to a statement released on Friday in Abuja by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, 55 of the suspects were arrested on Wednesday at K Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, while 11 others were picked up the following day at Tulip Haven in Chevron, Lekki, Lagos.
Oyewale explained that the arrests followed “credible and actionable intelligence” linking the suspects to alleged online scam activities.
Items recovered from the Ogun operation included six luxury cars, two locally-fabricated pistols, a motorcycle, numerous mobile phones and laptops, incriminating documents, and 89 unclaimed phones, among other exhibits.

In Lagos, operatives seized one Range Rover, three Mercedes-Benz cars, two Lexus vehicles, and one Toyota, along with 15 iPhones, two Android devices, a Nokia torch phone, and a MacBook.
“All the suspects have provided useful information to the commission and will be charged in court soon,” Oyewale added.
