Nigeria’s powerlifting sensation Folashade Oluwafemiayo has once again made history after breaking the world record in the women’s 86kg category at the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

The reigning champion lifted an astonishing 168kg to surpass her own previous world record of 167kg, to win gold and secure her fourth world title for Nigeria. With the lift, she cements her position as one of the most dominant figures in para powerlifting history.
