The National Sports Commission (NSC) has hailed Nigerian athlete Jordan Joel after he stormed to gold in the heavyweight (+87kg) division at the British International Taekwondo Open in Manchester, United Kingdom.
According to the NSC, Jordan won three straight bouts from the quarterfinals to the final, earning valuable world ranking points.ย
His performance also helped Team Nigeria to 10th place overall among 142 senior teams.

At the same time, he praised the Commissionโs Diaspora Talents Development Committee, calling it an important link between athletes abroad and grassroots sports back home.
