A brace from Vincent Aboubakar secured a win for the host of the 2022 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Cameroon against Burkina Faso in the opening games of the tournament.
Burkina Faso had taken the lead in the 24th minute through Gustavo SangarĆ©. He left-footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box to the top left corner, courtesy of a Bertrand TraorĆ©’s assist following a corner.
The host later in the half turned the game around through two penalties. Aboubakar made no mistake in converting them.
Cameroon then held on to secure the maximum points, starting their campaign with a win.
The hosts were awarded a penalty kick after Issoufou Dayo committed a foul in the penalty area.

Cameroon got the second penalty in four minutes after Nouhou Tolo draws a foul in the penalty area.
